Morgan Grand Nationals!

This year’s show was full of ups and downs! We had a great time. We brought Crown Z Queen, who was third in her in hand class and sixth under saddle. She sold at the horse show and we brought home a new face to bring along. The most exciting thing for us was to follow the progress of the colt we bred, Akira Derringer.

Dare won his yearling colt class then went on to win Reserve World Champion Junior Stallion. He went back in the ring with the “big boys” in the Open World championship class. It was such an honor to see “my” colt stand in that league of stallions. He also had a futurity in hand class of yearling colts and won a World Championship cooler there for his owners. We are so proud of him and excited for his future.

PNW Morgan Show

We had so much fun at the PNW Show! It is one of the most enjoyable shows of the year for us, lots of good friends and competitive classes. We enjoy the laid back atmosphere at this show.

Owned by Breckenridge:

  • Rosehaven HC Korver won his Novice Western class, was second in Ladies Western Pleasure and finished the show as Reserve Champion Open Western Pleasure. For his second show in western tack this horse was a star! We are so proud of him and excited for next year!
  • Aranaway Dante had some great showings at PNW. He won a good bridle path hack class, was second in Open Hunter Pleasure class and was Reserve Champion Open Hunter horse. He also had a good showing in first level dressage and sport horse in hand.
  • ATMF Exclamation brought home a Reserve Championship in Trail, a good second in Western Pleasure Amateur Ladies, third in Western Pleasure Masters and more good ribbons. She was third in the Open Western Championship behind barnmate KC.
  • ATMF Moonlight Sonata opened the show by winning the Sport Horse in hand Mares class and was Reserve Champion Open Sport Horse in hand. She also won an extremely competitive Road Hack Hunter type class and was also the Champion Road hack horse as well as winning the Justin Morgan Standard model class. She had a fabulous show!

Akira brought Crown Z Queen who was grand champion mare, won in English Pleasure Amateur and Classic English Pleasure Junior Horse.

Oregon Morgan Classic

We had an amazing show at the Oregon Morgan Classic! We were hopping the whole show so I wasn’t able to get photos of everyone but here is a quick rundown:

Owned by Akira:

  • Crown Z Queen: Zena was FABULOUS to show in hand. She is so floaty and fun and full of verve. She won her qualifier and was Grand Champion Mare. She had a quick turnaround to her first saddle class and was pretty zippy there! We won it anyway and then later that day she competed for the first time in a youth class with an awesome catch ride by Erin Baker. It was great to see a former student of mine handle a bright four year old so well. Later in the show Zena also won her futurity class and finished the show as Champion English Pleasure Jr horse.
  • Emma Downtown had a great time at her first horse show! She was the only Weanling filly but I received many compliments on her. She showed wonderfully. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for her.

Owned by Roth:

  • Sea Cloud Second Chance won his yearling class and was Reserve Champion Gelding amid nice competition. He also won his Yearling Futurity Gelding’s class and then went on to win the Yearling Futurity Sweepstakes. What a bright start for this handsome guy! We were ecstatic!
  • Faith’s First Impression had a great show! He won the Limit Western Pleasure, was a good second in Pro-Am and finished the show as Reserve Amateur Champion! This guy is such a wonderful performer.

Owned by Breckenridge:

  • Rosehaven HC Korver had his ring debut. He was second in WP Stallions and Geldings and Western Pleasure Novice horse. We couldn’t be happier with him. He is steady and quiet and enjoys his job! With a few more shows under his belt he will be a force to recon with.
  • ATMF Exclamation was second in mares, limit western pleasure and a very good second in Western Pleasure Amateur Masters. Her big accomplishment at this show was having a great trail go, a division she has struggled in. She was second in Amateur Trail and then won the Open Trail Championship.
  • ATMF Moonlight Sonata won the sport horse in hand Mares class and then was reserve champion to her stablemate Aranaway Dante. She also had some wonderful dressage goes in second level test 1 & 3. She is our favorite road hack mount and won both the qualifier and championship in that division. The judge had great compliments to her.
  • Aranaway Dante won the Sport Horse in Hand class for the geldings, then was Champion Sport Horse in hand. He is such an athletic, beautiful horse he truly shines in these classes. He also showed well in Dressage first level test one.

Emma is home!

Fabulous Emma Downtown (SpiceOLife Present Tense x FCM Coco Bella) has been weaned and made the trip home! We are so excited to get to know her better. She handled the 6+ hour trailer ride like a pro and is getting used to the horses here. She will be shown at OMC in the futurity weanling filly class, but first she needs to learn all about baths and clippers and modeling. After her class she will get to spend some quality time out to pasture with SSLLC In Vogue and her 2016 filly.

Crown Z Queen at Far West

Zena had a very successful Far West showing! She was reserve Jr EP champion and Reserve Grand Champion Mare. She showed well and we all had fun. Check out her page for video of her four year old EP class. OMC is up next!
